Suspect nabbed in case of man found dead from stab wounds in Selayang


GOMBAK: A murder investigation has been initiated into an incident where a man was found stabbed to death in a car here.

The victim, a man in his 70s, was found in a green-coloured car near Selayang Centre Point in Jalan Selayang Baru on Tuesday (May 9).

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Zainal Mohamed Mohamed, in a statement on Wednesday (May 10), said police were notified of the discovery at 10.15am and policemen were deployed to the scene.

"The body was fully clothed with a shirt and long slacks and was found in the driver's seat.

"Inspections on the body showed signs of injuries in his neck," he said, adding a sharp object was also found in the car.

A few hours later, a suspect, a permanent resident, was arrested in the Selayang Baru area.

"The suspect has been remanded until May 16 to assist investigations. The motive behind the case is still being investigated and investigations are being conducted for murder," he said.
