Teacher quits job after one day of live streaming exceeds 10 years worth in wages

A KINDERGARTEN teacher quit her job after she earned 10 years’ worth of her salary from just one day of live streaming, Oriental Daily reported.

Identified only by her surname Huang, the teacher from China’s Hubei province had started a live stream teaching a nursery rhyme titled Little Garden.

The video was viewed about 100 million times, which encouraged her to start live streaming more frequently.

In just a few days, Huang had amassed 4.3 million fans.

On one of the live stream days, Huang received around 500,000 yuan (RM321,028) in monetary gifts.

“I’m so happy; I’m so excited. Just by live streaming one day, it has exceeded 10 years of my salary,” she said.

She immediately quit her job as a teacher to focus on live streaming full time.

In her subsequent three sessions, she earned two million yuan (RM1.28mil).

She has since signed with an agency which manages online celebrities.
