No decision yet on unity govt parties using Barisan symbol in state polls, says Zahid

PUTRAJAYA: The decision on allowing other parties in the unity government to use Barisan Nasional's symbol in the six coming state elections is still up in the air, says Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The Barisan chairman confirmed that the coalition's own candidates would contest under its signature dacing (balance scale) banner.

"A few have expressed the desire to contest under the symbol, as a sign of consensus, but nothing has been finalised.

"Barisan's supreme council has confirmed that all Barisan candidates will contest under our own banner for the state elections," he told a press conference after chairing a high-level committee meeting on counter-terrorism here on Thursday (May 11).
