Student told to remove bra to sit for exam

AN exam invigilator caused an uproar in Tamil Nadu for asking a female student to remove her bra before entering the exam hall, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Nearly 150,000 students sat for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET (UG), which is the gateway for admission to undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions.

One student who turned up at her exam centre in Mayilappur was shocked to be told that her bra would have to come off as it apparently had metal parts.

Not wanting to miss the exam, the student reportedly complied and removed it, and was then allowed to sit for the exam.

After the matter was reported, political parties and activists demanded the state government lodge a formal complaint with the national exam board for this overstep.

> The Community Builders Foundation will organise a charity concert to raise funds for five non-governmental organisations (NGOs) working to help the Indian community, Malaysia Nanban also reported.

The foundation was formed in 1994 by then Hulu Selangor MP and later minister and MIC president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel.
