'Marriage' between PAS, Bersatu will not last long, claims Zahid

PETALING JAYA: The "marriage" between Pas and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) will not last long, claims Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

"We hear that this muta'ah (temporary or contractual) political marriage is only a temporary state. We will wait for the cracks to appear," the Umno president told Sinar Harian on Thursday (May 11).

Ahmad Zahid was speaking during Umno’s 77th anniversary celebrations at the World Trade Centre (WTC) Kuala Lumpur.

He added that Umno had played an instrumental role in unifying various organisations over the last seven decades.

"Umno has faced numerous slanders leading to us being trapped during the 15th General Election. But Umno remains relevant," he said.
