LOCAL band Floor 88 has lodged a police report against the owner of a YouTube channel for allegedly illegally uploading the full footage of the film Bas Terakhir Malam Raya made by its production company Floor 88 Holdings.

Berita Harian reported the group’s keyboardist Eric Fuzi as saying that the irresponsible action of YouTube channel owner caused the company – which had collaborated with Silentkaiju Studio and Motion Studio to make the movie – to allegedly suffer a loss of RM2.6mil.

“The police report was made following the leak of the film on Telegram, TikTok and YouTube while the film was still being broadcast on the Astro First channel.

“This issue started when a link to the movie was spread on the Telegram and TikTok apps. When we found out, we made a report and the link was taken down.

“However, this one channel took quite a long time, about six days, to take the link down.

“We found out that during that period, the free-to-air film had a total of 168,000 views,” he said.

Eric, who is also the co-director of the film, went on to say that the film could have been leaked by “insiders”.
