KUALA LUMPUR: Magnum is championing heartfelt projects that are driving positive change for its customers and the community it serves.

The company recently kicked off its annual Responsible Gaming (RG) week as part of its continued efforts in advocating healthy gaming habits.

Magnum also launched its #ProjectMagnumHearts, a digital community-support platform available on its MyMagnum 4D App, empowering customers to make a positive difference to the lives of those in need.

In conjunction with its RG week, all Magnum employees, agencies and frontliners will undergo their annual training to ensure continued awareness of responsible gaming practices, assuring its entire workforce understands the importance of educating and providing customers with the most accurate information about responsible gaming and the potential harms of gaming addiction.

All Magnum 4D outlets will carry and display RG-related information, which is also made readily available on the company’s digital and online platforms for customers to peruse.

Magnum also introduced a self-assessment tool in 2021 to help customers understand their gaming habits and take corrective actions if needed.

Additionally, the company also launched the Gaming Calculator tool last year to help customers understand their own playing and spending frequency so that they can play within their limits.

Both informative RG tools are available on the Magnum 4D website for customers to access at any time.

Magnum also works closely with Gamblers Rehab Centre (GRC) based in Kuala Lumpur which specialises in providing rehabilitation treatment to players in need of assistance to curtail their excessive gaming habits.

“Last year was a great milestone for Magnum as we were the first and only number forecast operator (NFO) in Malaysia to achieve the Level 3 RG certification from the World Lottery Association (WLA),” says its chief executive officer, Datuk Lawrence Lim Swee Lin.

“This great achievement reinforces our commitment towards upholding our RG obligations and we will continue to lead the charge to champion RG in our industry.

“We encourage everyone to join us and participate in our RG Week to learn more about RG practices and playing within set limits. Remember, the bigger play is to play responsibly.”

Lim adds: “I’m also excited to announce the launch of #ProjectMagnumHearts, our new digital community-support platform spearheaded by MagnumCares, our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm.

“As a socially conscious brand, Magnum believes that the power of small actions can make a big impact and we invite our passionate customers to join us in championing a variety of life-changing, community-driven initiatives.

“A simple act of kindness can make a big difference and together, we can bring joy to the hearts of many,” Lim shares.

#ProjectMagnumHearts introduces an exciting and unique feature exclusively available on the MyMagnum 4D App. Registered app users can champion charitable causes by simply scanning their Magnum 4D ticket(s) to obtain ‘Magnum Heart(s)’ which they can use to support a community project listed in the selection.

Magnum also introduce two community projects to kick off this initiative. The first is The Lost Food Project (TLFP), a Malaysian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to a sustainable future by preventing quality, nutritious food, and other surplus goods from going to landfills by redistributing these essential items to those in need. The second community project is an initiative by Great Heart Charity Association that supports underprivileged residents under the People’s Housing Project (PPR) initiative by giving them access to basic food necessities.

According to Datuk Chan Chee Fai, Magnum’s executive vice president and group chief commercial officer, “Magnum is committed to creating a lasting and positive impact in the communities where we serve.

“We are passionate about making a difference and this commitment is reinforced by inculcating strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices into our daily business undertakings.

“Our RG obligations and the introduction of #ProjectMagnumHearts are just some of the many initiatives undertaken to demonstrate our strong ESG commitment. We look forward to driving more meaningful changes to make the world a better place for all of us.”
