GEORGE TOWN: An accident involving a trailer and a car along the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah Bridge has caused significant traffic congestion here on Friday (May 12).

The accident that occurred along mid-span on the island-bound side caused the tractor unit to separate from its load, blocking a lane along the double-lane bridge.

Based on viral video footage, the tractor unit went over the barricade separating the motorcycle and car lanes.
