Ex-Sosma detainee shot dead

A MAN who had been implicated in several crimes and detained under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma) was found shot dead in Puchong, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The deceased, who was identified as a 31-year-old from Dengkil, was reportedly having dinner at a food court in Pusat Bandar Puchong on Wednesday.

The man is believed to have been shot as he was walking back to his car after meeting his friends, Serdang police chief ACP A. Anbalagan said.

Police, who were informed by an unidentified passer-by, found the victim covered in blood.

The police have not identified the reason for the killing.

The incident was reported to have taken place in Chennai, Tami Nadu, a few days ago.

In the video, the groom started throwing a tantrum outside the wedding hall, demanding a dowry of a new motorbike if he was to bring his new wife home.

The bride’s family was seen trying to calm him down, but when he refused, the bride’s father took off his slipper and started beating the groom with it.

Dowry practice is illegal in India but it is still commonplace.
