XPDC manager slams exploitation of Mael's death to sell pirated merchandise

IN Kuala Lumpur, XPDC’s manager Mohd Yazid Selamat expressed regret over the actions of certain quarters who misused the death of the rock band’s vocalist Mael (pic) to sell pirated merchandise of the group.

Mohd Yazid said a police report will be filed to put an end to it.

Yazid said the band was disappointed when they learnt that the XPDC brand was exploited, especially through the sale of clothing that features words such as “Tribute to Legend Mael XPDC”.

“We will make a report with the police and MCMC to restrict the TikTok account, which has been selling XPDC items illegally,” he told Berita Harian Online.

“We cannot let this go on and allow them to make profits easily. The rights of XPDC members must be protected,” he said, adding that the band will not take this lightly.

He said the sellers did not obtain permission from Mael’s family and had copied the design of the band’s merchandise.

The rock legend passed away on April 27 in Muar, Johor.
