KUALA LUMPUR: Political stability in Sabah must be prioritised as the state still has roads that are like the cratered surface of the moon, says Wanita Upko chief Mohina Sidom.
In her speech at the Unity Government National Women's Convention, she lamented that much more was needed to improve Sabah's infrastructure and the plight of women in the state.
"In Kuala Lumpur, you can be proud of tall skyscrapers.
"But in Sabah we have a thing called lunar landscape roads due to potholes and other damage," she said here on Sunday (May 14).

The Women’s Convention will focus on the economy, nation-building and the role of women in the context of Malaysia Madani.
Mohina also pointed out that many villages in rural Sabah had no electricity and were only accessible by river.
"This is because the infrastructure in the state is still far behind," she added.
She highlighted the importance of political stability to restore investor confidence.
"We need to stop all the propaganda and political ploys to topple the government.
"It does not benefit the rakyat," she said.
