Johor cops urge those with info on viral child abuse video to come forward to help investigations


ISKANDAR PUTERI: Police are calling for public cooperation in an investigation regarding a video showing a woman abusing a baby.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm Rahmat Ariffin said the initial probe revealed that the incident had occurred at a child care centre in Mutiara Rini.

“A police report was lodged by members of the public on Monday (May 15), who had received the video via WhatsApp.

“The video shows an unknown woman abusing a baby of an unknown age,” he said in a statement here on Tuesday (May 16).

The police are still on the lookout for the suspect in the video to help with the investigation, he added.

“Those with information on the case are urged to come forward to the Criminal Investigation Department,” he added.

Earlier, a 40-second video went viral on social media showing a woman, believed to be a nanny, abusing a baby at a child care centre in Taman Mutiara Rini.
