Van driver dies after crashing into sundry shop in Perak


IPOH: A van driver was killed after crashing the vehicle into a sundry shop at Kampung Simpang 5 in Parit Buntar on Wednesday (May 17).

Perak Fire and Rescue Department operations centre officer-in-charge Mohd Faisal Mohd Izham said the man, identified as Ezrul Azmi, 33, was confirmed to have died by medical officers after the incident at about 8am.

"When we arrived, we found the driver trapped in the vehicle.

"Medical personnel that arrived at the location confirmed his death," he said in a statement.

"Firemen used rescue tools to get the victim out of the vehicle before handing over the body to the police for the next course of action," he said, adding that the operation ended at about 8.40am.
