Strong winds knock down trees in KL, damages cars and motorcycles

KUALA LUMPUR: Eight cars and five motorcycles were damaged from falling trees after a storm and strong winds, here.

City Fire and Rescue Department operations control centre said they received reports of fallen trees at ten locations around the City between 7.30pm and 8pm.

"At Jalan Sultan Ismail a tree damaged two vehicles while at Taman Bukit Angkasa a tree fell on another car.

"Four cars were also damaged after a tree fell at Jalan Ayer Jernih in Setapak while at Bayu Mont Kiara a Toyota Alphard was also damaged," it said in a statement on Friday (May 19).

It added that five motorcycles were also damaged after a tree fell at the Kepong Health Office.

Other areas also affected were Kampung Attap, Flat Danau Kota, Jalan Sultan Ismail, and Jalan Ampang.

It said that no casualties occurred during these incidents and work to clear off the fallen trees are underway.
