ALOR GAJAH: A tahfiz founder, who was charged on Wednesday with sexual assault and unnatural sex, faced another three counts of sexually assaulting a male student.
Muhammad Firdaous Abdul Rashif, 40, pleaded not guilty to all three charges yesterday, which were read before Judge Nariman Badruddin in a Sessions Court.
Based on the statement of facts, he was said to have committed a sexual assault on a 14-year-old boy in a teacher’s room at the tahfiz here at 3pm in March.
The charge was framed under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act, which carries a 20-year jail term and whipping upon conviction.
For the second offence, the accused, who is a Singaporean, was charged under Section 377C of the Penal Code with committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature with the same student at the same location and time.
He faces a jail term of up to 20 years and is also liable to whipping if found guilty.
Muhammad Firdaous faced another charge of committing gross indecency against the same student at the tahfiz centre on April 28.
This charge was framed under Section 377E of the Penal Code, which provides for a jail term of up to 15 years and caning upon conviction.
He was represented by Faathir Imran Firdaus.
The court granted a bail of RM30,000 on all three charges and fixed June 26 for a re-mention date.
