Woman robbed at knifepoint in Sentul apartment lift


Sentul police chief Asst Comm Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari, in a statement on Sunday (May 21), said that the incident occurred on Saturday (May 19) at around 10pm in an apartment in Sentul Utara.

The victim, aged 30, was in a lift heading back to her unit when a man wearing a blue helmet boarded as well.

He exited on the fourth floor, but as the victim exited the lift on the fifth floor, the suspect appeared brandishing a knife.

The knife was pointed at her stomach as he made his demands.

"The man instructed the victim to hand over her belongings, which included a handphone, bank card and personal documents. It is estimated that collectively, she lost around RM6,500. The victim was not injured during the encounter," he said.

Efforts are underway to trace and identify the suspect.

Descriptions of the suspect at the time of the robbery showed that he was wearing a black shirt with blue stripes and rain pants. He weighs about 70kg with an estimated height of around 160cm.

"Those with information on the identity of the suspect are urged to contact the Sentul police headquarters at 03-4048 2222," ACP Ahmad Sukarno said.
