Limbahau rep sits as GRS direct member ahead of anti-hopping Bill

KOTA KINABALU: Limabahau assemblyman Datuk Juil Nuatim (pic) became a direct member of the ruling state coalition Gabungan Rakyat Sabah on Tuesday (May 23), two days after leaving Parti KDM.

Juil, who was deputy president of KDM led by Datuk Peter Anthony, submitted his application to join GRS to chairman Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

GRS deputy president Datuk Masidi Manjun said Juil submitted the application in the presence of Sabah STAR president Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan and PBS deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam.

Juil is now a direct member of the five-party coalition.

Juil quit KDM on Sunday (May 21), ahead of the proposed anti-hopping law being tabled in the current state assembly session.

It is scheduled to be tabled on Thursday (May 24).

Juil won his Limbahau seat on a Parti Warisan ticket in the September 2020 state election but quit the party with Anthony to lead KDM in December 2021.

KDM supported the Hajiji-led state government but shifted its support towards Sabah Barisan Nasional and Warisan's bid to oust Hajiji as Chief Minister earlier this year.
