Couple remanded four days for alleged indecent act in Johor parking lot


PASIR GUDANG: A couple here has been remanded for four days to assist in the investigation into allegations of indecent acts committed at a Bukit Layang-Layang parking lot here.

Seri Alam OCPD Supt Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said this followed two arrests made at 11pm and 11.45pm on Tuesday (May 23) at two locations at Tanjung Puteri Resort and Taman Rinting, Masai.

“We received a report regarding a 42-second video showing a couple committing an indecent act inside a vehicle and started an investigation into the matter.

“The male suspect is 29 while the female is 19. A background check revealed that the male suspect has a criminal record,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (May 24).

He added that the remand will run from Wednesday to Saturday (May 27), and that police have also confiscated a white vehicle belonging to one suspect.

The case is being investigated under Section 377D of the Penal Code for gross indecent behaviour with another person in public, which provides for a maximum jail term of two years upon conviction.
