PETALING JAYA: Over 500 participants from micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are expected to attend the first ever National Conference on Government Grants and SME Loans 2023.

Organised by the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KLSICCI), the event on June 9 will also feature panel discussions on the latest information that the sector needs to rebound and move forward after the Covid-19 pandemic.

“There will be panellists who will address the Industrial Revolution 4.0 for the start-up community and also MSMEs operators.

“The sectors, especially manufacturing and services, will be able to equip themselves with knowledge on adapting to digitalisation and automation to further drive their businesses,” said KLSICCI president Nivas Ravagan.

Endorsed by the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (Kuskop) and the Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry (Miti), the conference will also see over 20 booths from both government and private agencies to assist industry players.

“MSMEs owners can meet with representatives from the Bank Negara and Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) to advise them on restructuring their business loans due to the impact of Covid-19.

“KLSICCI is playing the role of addressing the needs of the sector by putting these agencies under one roof,” Nivas said.

The conference will be held at Dewan Perdana, Menara Miti, Kuala Lumpur, from 8am to 5pm.

Kuskop minister Datuk Ewon Benedick is expected to launch the conference that will showcase up to RM40bil worth of government grants and SME loans allocated under Budget 2023.

“I urge all MSMEs and start-up company owners to join us at the conference and grab the opportunity to secure business loans that have been offered by the government,” Nivas said.

The agencies participating include SME Bank, Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Bhd (MIDF), Tekun Nasional, SME Corp Malaysia, Malaysia Digital Corp, Bank Simpanan Nasional and AgroBank.

MSMEs owners can register at https://forms.gle/5dr13nW7zVPaUiqC9 by June 7. Early bird registration is available up to May 31.
