Perlis Regent: Preachers need to equip themselves with knowledge, skills

KANGAR: The Regent of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail has called on Islamic preachers to always equip themselves with skills and knowledge in order to be respected and set the best example to the community.

"As Muslims, we all have a responsibility to share the beauty of Islam with our fellow human beings,” he said in a statement issued by the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) today.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is also the MAIPs president, said this when officiating at the 9th Regional Dakwah Conference held here last night.

He also said continuous efforts must be made to further increase the community’s understanding of Islam.

According to the statement, some 200 participants from 40 countries attended the conference, which was jointly organised by Hidayah Centre Foundation, MyGuide Malaysia, Gabungan Dakwah Malaysia and MAIPs. - Bernama
