CarSifu revs up with FMCCAM

PENANG: CarSifu, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Star Media Group (SMG), has inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Federation of Motor and Credit Companies Associations of Malaysia (FMCCAM) to rev up its unique offerings that will give consumers more options when it comes to purchasing pre-owned cars.

The MOU was signed by SMG group chief executive officer Alex Yeow and FMCCAM honorary secretary-general Khoo Kah Jin during the federation’s 45th anniversary celebration held on Saturday at Berjaya Hotel here.

Present to witness the signing were Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and Johari Kassim, political secretary to Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, as well as FMCCAM president Datuk Tony Khor and SMG senior general manager Chung Eng Lee.

Yeow said that through the collaboration, CarSifu aims to be the definitive buying guide in the automotive industry, enhancing user experience via data and technology while inspiring trust in prospective customers and car dealers alike.

“SMG’s ethos of being a credible and reliable source of news and information is mirrored across our various brands and products, while FMCCAM has long been the authoritative voice for Malaysia’s independent motor vehicle dealers. This collaboration will provide FMCCAM’s registered dealers with a trusted listing platform where they are able to reach even more consumers.

“With FMCCAM having over 5,000 dealers nationwide, it would be an understatement to say that consumers will be spoilt for choice. Together, SMG and FMCCAM can strengthen the trust between sellers and buyers and fulfil their respective needs,” said Yeow.

Established in 1979, FMCCAM pays close attention to instilling confidence in buyers looking to purchase pre-owned vehicles as well as protecting pre-owned car dealers from associated risks.

Khor said the tie-up between CarSifu and FMCCAM could not have come at a more opportune time as the pre-owned car market is currently on an upward trend.

“We’re excited to present car dealers with a platform that will allow them to extend their reach and showcase their offerings.”

He added that through CarSifu’s classifieds and FMCCAM registered dealers, customers can confidently make their purchases and expect a better, more transparent dealership experience.

“We look forward to working together to elevate our services and fuel the best experience for both dealers and customers,” said Khor.
