> The body of a child in Guizhou province, China, has been found – some 13 years after he had gone missing while picking fruits in the mountains, reported China Press.
Villagers in Huishui county recently discovered a child’s skeletal remains trapped in a hole on the mountain and reported the matter to the police.
When the father was asked to identify the body, he immediately recognised the pair of jeans he bought for his son.
The incident took place on March 24 in 2010 when nine-year-old boy, known as Ah Cheng, went in search for fruits on the mountain together with friends after school.
However, he never made it back home. One of his friends told the police that Ah Cheng had “disappeared”.
Worried family members searched for the boy for days, fearing he could have gotten lost or kidnapped by human traffickers.
A DNA test later confirmed that the skeleton belonged to Ah Cheng, finally giving the family some closure to the matter.
