Focus on improving Kedah, not stirring up controversy, Bukti Bendera MP tells Sanusi

PETALING JAYA: Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor should focus on administering his state and not indulge in immature politics, says Bukit Bendera MP Syerleena Abdul Rashid.

"Kedah was the second poorest state in terms of gross domestic product (GDP) in 2021 and Sanusi's attempt at stirring controversy over Penang's sovereignty is a diversion from his failure in governing the state," Syerleena said in a statement Friday (June 2).

"The lack of short- and medium-term solutions to the water issue, particularly in Kuala Kedah, is evidence of the state government's failure under Muhammad Sanusi's leadership," she added.

Syerleena also said Penang's position within the Federation of Malaysia was clear and "immature political polemics should not occur".
