PETALING JAYA: Nominations were simultaneously and smoothly conducted for 188 MCA divisions, 131 Youth divisions and 167 Wanita divisions, says Datuk Chong Sin Woon.
The MCA secretary-general said the nominations were held from 5pm to 8pm on Thursday (June 1) with AGMs set to be held on June 10 and 11.
He said a total of 36 MCA divisions (19.1%), nine MCA Youth divisions (6.9%) and seven Wanita MCA divisions (4.2%) had nominated candidates for division level elections, with others winning uncontested.
"For division level contests in the states, those in Terengganu and Kelantan won uncontested with 11 other states to have party polls, Perak (3), Selangor (2), Pahang (3), Johor (8), Kedah (5), Melaka (4), Negri Sembilan (4), Penang (2), Perlis (1) and Federal Territories (3)," said Chong, who is also party election steering committee chairman in a statement on Friday (June 2).
He said the AGMs of MCA Youth and Wanita will be on June 10, while MCA divisions will hold theirs on June 11.
