KUALA LUMPUR: The two daughters of sacked National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) chief executive officer Prof Dr Md Nasir Ibrahim, have penned words of encouragement for their father.

Nasir's daughters, who are both actresses, showed their support for their father after he was terminated by the film board on June 1.

Anzalna Nasir, in an Instagram post, said she was proud to be his daughter.

"Dad (Abah) you have been integral in the development of the local film industry.

"You have worked tirelessly. Many have sung you praise but maybe for now fortune (rezeki) does not favour you.

"I believe you will be rewarded by God in the end for all the hardship and struggles. I am always here for you dad," she added in the June 1 post which included a family video.

Meanwhile, her sister Afifah Nasir said that her father continued to receive support from many people.

"We love you dad. They have treated you unfairly, but you have support from many.

"You are great. God is fair and knows what is best for you," said Afifah in an Instagram story.

Meanwhile, Finas, in a statement Thursday (June 1), said that it appreciated the services of Md Nasir and thanked him for his contributions.
