JOHOR BAHRU: Water utility company, Ranhill SAJ, has assured its clients and stakeholders that it remains committed to provide its best service to the people of Johor in relation to the water supply services.
It revealed that it is actively increasing its efforts to mitigate and solve the water supply situation in Rengit, Batu Pahat.
Currently, Rengit is one of the focus areas during the last festive season with several immediate initiatives implemented to accommodate the sudden increase in the supply of clean water.
Among the initiatives that had been carried out during the last festive season across the state of Johor, including the Rengit area, are as follows:
> Inline injection using a private tanker
> Providing a water tanker
> Providing static tanks
According to Ranhill Utilities Bhd group corporate communications head, Mohd Zaffarollah Mohd Nordin, they are committed to finding a long-term solution to the issue highlighted by Rengit assemblyman Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi.
For that purpose, he said that Ranhill SAJ has designed the Rengit pipeline and water tank with an estimated cost of RM44mil.
He said that this involves:
> Installation of a new 450mm pipeline involving 10km long from Parit Raja water treatment plant (LRA) to Parit Kadir.
> Installation of a new 450mm pipeline involving 11km long from Rengit to the new water tank
> Addition of 4.5-million-liter capacity at the Kampung Tengah water tank - Currently this project is in the detailed engineering design stage.
In addition, he said, that they are also in the process of implementing the Rengit distribution and Inline pumping with an estimated cost of RM4mil.
He explained that this involves:
> Installation of a new water pump in Parit Kadir
> Installation of a new 250mm pipe (3km) along Jalan Rejo Sari
> Installation of a new 250mm pipe (4km) along Jalan Rejo Sari.
He shared that this project has already been completed by 97 percent.
“With this long-term initiative, we are confident that it will be able to stabilise the water supply in the Rengit area.
“We would like to thank Rengit state assemblyman for raising this issue, as well as giving the community an opportunity to learn more about Ranhill SAJ's efforts to improve the quality of water services in the state of Johor,” he added.
He elaborated that Ranhill SAJ is also open to all constructive comments and criticism for the well-being of the people of Johor.
