Half-naked, charred body of man found in Johor

MUAR: The charred, half-naked body of a man was found at a Felda settlement here.

Muar OCPD Asst Comm Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz said the burnt body was spotted by the roadside near a dumpsite in Felda Maokil, Bukit Kepong last Friday (June 2).

“The victim was only wearing underwear when we found him. We are still investigating to find out whether the victim was set ablaze at the site or was burnt somewhere else before he was dumped at the scene,” he said.

ACP Mukhliz added that a forensic examination and post-mortem showed the cause of the man's death was blunt force trauma to the head.

“This leads us to believe there is a criminal element to the case,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (June 7).

He added that the victim’s identity is still unknown and urged the public to channel related information to the investigating officer Asst Supt Zakini Ab Latif at 013-233 8184 to aid in investigations.

The case is being probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
