Food delivery rider nabbed over dangerous bike stunt

KUALA LUMPUR: A food delivery rider who was caught on camera performing a dangerous stunt on his motorcycle has been arrested.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak, in a statement on Thursday (June 8), said that a video of the stunt was detected on June 7.

The video showed the suspect sitting on top of a box placed on the motorcycle seat. He was also seen doing a short dance.

"Police arrested a 45-year-old man in Kampung Cheras Baru at around 10.30am on June 8. A motorcycle was also seized and the man was taken to the Ampang Jaya traffic police station.

"A urine test showed that he was negative for drugs. Further checks showed he had two traffic summons including a warrant for his arrest," he said.

He also urged the Twitter user @jnmalaysia who uploaded the video to come forward to assist investigations.

"The public is advised to not ride in a dangerous manner which could bring harm to oneself and other road users. Such actions can endanger lives and lead to death," he said.
