A GROUP of elderly villagers in Seremban are urging the Mentri Besar to intervene in their 50-year battle for land deeds, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Rasah MIC chairman Gopal Arumugam said 16 Indian families have lived in Kampung Pasir in Rasah since the 1970s.

He said part of their land was taken for a drainage project in 1990, and the villagers were given letters promising replacement land by the state government.

Residents Kamatchee Ramu, 66, and Leela Kaasi, 62, said their families had been trying to get their land deeds as promised for three generations.

Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun must intervene, said Gopal, as the matter had been unresolved for too long.

> A three-year-old boy in India shocked his parents after grabbing a live snake and chewing through it like a snack, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Upon discovery, his parents took the boy to the hospital, where doctors monitored the boy but found that he suffered no harm.
