Community event in Ayer Hitam receives praise for promoting healthy living

AYER HITAM: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has praised the Desa Cergas 2023 programme and expressed hope for greater encouragement placed on healthier lifestyles.

The MCA president and Ayer Hitam MP congratulated the Ayer Hitam Kemas (Community Development Department) for organising the event which was held at Al-Muttaqin Mosque, Kampung Olak Batu in Parit Raja.

Dr Wee said he was invited to open the event.

"It is hoped that the programme, which is aimed at creating a healthy community, will be extended and expanded to encourage healthier practices and community," Dr Wee said in a Facebook post on Saturday (June 10).

Other than exhibitions by the Army Reserves and National Anti Drug Agency, health screening for non-communicable diseases, telematches, a safety talk by the Fire and Rescue Department among others were held.

Also present were Yong Peng state assemblyman and state health exco Ling Tian Soon and Johor Kemas skill and community development assistant director Wan Zairul Wan Zin.
