Teen faints while hiking at Bukit Saga


KUALA LUMPUR: A 16-year-old boy was rescued after he fainted while hiking at Bukit Saga on Sunday (June 11).

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Mohamadul Ehsan Mohd Zain said the department received a distress call at 9.36am.

"Rescue personnel were dispatched and they managed to locate the victim some 800m from the hiking trail. He was unconscious and suffered injuries to his head and right leg," said Mohamadul Ehsan.

"Bomba personnel brought him down and handed him over to medical personnel, where he received treatment," he said in a statement.

In another case, a 24-year-old man was rescued after he was stung by bees while hiking at the Kota Damansara Community Forest at 10.48am on Sunday.

Mohamadul Ehsan said Bomba personnel managed to track down the victim with the assistance of forest rangers.

"He was injured but stable, and he received treatment from Health Ministry personnel," he added.
