IPOH: Umno Youth must not "break the momentum" and be progressive, dynamic and moving forward, says Nga Kor Ming.
The DAP vice-chairman said the Madani government was on the right track, and all of them have moved on.
"The country is on the right track, and voters must vote for the parties on the same wavelength.
"Thus, it is not right to break the momentum because the government now is a stable one.
"We (DAP) have moved on, the Umno president has moved on, and our focus now is how both parties are able to help and strengthen the government for the well-being of the people, and to continue to ensure the government is stable," he told reporters after visiting the Kampung Simee wet market here today (June 11).
Nga said DAP would be assisting Umno in the coming state elections.
"Umno Youth, consisting of the younger generation, must be forward thinking, progressive and dynamic," he added.
On Saturday (June 10), Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh said the wing was not forcing DAP to apologise for its past allegations against the party, but this would be the best way to "cool down temperatures".
"We can't force anyone to apologise. I was not speaking in a personal capacity but only conveying the uneasiness voiced by the grassroots on how to make things better with those who have berated Umno, and the best way is for DAP to apologise to Umno," the Umno Youth chief said at a press conference during the Umno General Assembly.
Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had said there was no need for DAP to apologise as the matter had been resolved during negotiations to form the unity government.
