PETALING JAYA: Umno Youth respects Tan Sri Annuar Musa's decision to join PAS, says Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh.

The Umno Youth chief said this after Annuar indicated he would not be returning to the party that sacked him.

"We would like to thank Annuar and other former Umno members for their contribution to the party," he said in a statement on Monday (June 12).

Dr Akmal said that Umno Youth will continue striving towards the party's goals just as Annuar once did as an Umno member.

"We will continue being loyal and steadfast in our goals just as you did when you were an Umno member," he said.

On Saturday (June 10), Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the party was open to calls to get its sacked members to return to the party.
