KUALA LUMPUR: The White Paper on Health has been released in Parliament.
The 57 page document details the healthcare reforms to be implemented in phases over a period of 15 years.
The policy paper addresses various issues related to funding constraints, manpower, facilities and equipment shortages, disease burden, ageing society, mental health issues, climate change and deterioration of the planet as well as the lack of emphasis on the social determinants of health.
The Health Ministry has also conducted townhalls nationwide to collect ground views on the problems surrounding the healthcare sector and the proposed solutions for the White Paper.
