PETALING JAYA: Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin’s house was raided by the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) on Tuesday (June 13) morning.

According to sources, the raid at Hamzah’s house in Damansara was due to alleged unreported income taxes.

“Hamzah was at home during the raid.

“Files and documents on accounts and asset ownership were seized,” said the source.

Sources close to Hamzah said that this was a politically motivated act by the authorities, as the Larut MP had always recorded his taxes.

“The LHDN did not specify in detail the reason for the raid on whether or not it was regarding taxes involving a company or some projects.

“Hamzah is still waiting for documents from LHDN,” said the source.

Attempts to contact Hamzah and LHDN are still ongoing.
