JOHOR BARU: Police have found two Pakistani teenage sisters who have been missing for more than three weeks.
Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said the two victims were 17 years old and 15 years old respectively.
“The victims’ mother lodged a missing person report with the police after she could not locate her daughters on May 23.
“Based upon information, police carried out an inspection at a premise within Plaza Mahkota in Melaka where it brought us to the missing girls at around 4pm on Wednesday (June 14).
“Both girls are in good and healthy condition,” he said in a statement here on Thursday (June 15).
ACP Raub added that according to the girls, they left their home claiming that they wanted to find inner peace, which is the reason they went to Melaka.
He also thanked the public including the Melaka police for their assistance to help solve the missing person report.
In an unrelated case, ACP Raub said police have issued a summon against a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) driver after he was caught on video cutting queues along the Causeway heading towards Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI) customs, immigration and quarantine (CIQ) from Singapore.
He added that the drivers were found to have committed the offence at around 2.50pm on last Friday (June 9).
“Police found a video that went viral on social media showing several MPVs using the dedicated lane for busses and lorries just to cut queues at the Causeway.
“We have found one of the drivers involved and immediately give the individual a summon. We are searching for the remaining drivers,” he said adding that those with information should contact Johor Baru South police hotline at 07-2237977.
