Motorcyclist killed in accident in Sandakan


KOTA KINABALU: A motorcyclist was killed following an accident with two other vehicles at Jalan Labuk, Batu 10 in Sandakan on Thursday (June 15).

Sandakan OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Fuad Abdul Malek said the incident occurred around 1.30pm involving a motorcycle, a car and a lorry.

“Initial investigations found that before the accident, the motorcycle rode by a man whose identity has yet to be ascertained, was moving towards Batu 12.

“Upon reaching the site of incident, the motorcyclist changed lanes from left to right to overtake a lorry.

“This cause the motorcycle to collide with a car and the impact caused the motorcyclist to fall under the lorry’s tire on the right side.

“The victim died on the spot while both drivers of the car and lorry were not injured,” he added.
