Cops arrest six teenagers over brawl at Johor eatery


KLUANG: Six teenagers were arrested after fighting in front of a restaurant in Jalan Langsat here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said that the incident occurred at midnight on Friday (June 16).

“The investigation found that an 18-year-old boy in the group started the fight by making provocative statements to his friends. The incident occurred when the group was eating at a restaurant,” he said in a statement here on Saturday (June 17).

ACP Bahrin added that the police have also confiscated a plastic chair used in the brawl and arrested five other teenagers, aged between 15 and 18, who were involved in the fight.

The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting, which carries a maximum jail term of five years, a fine or both upon conviction.

Earlier, a 27-second video was posted on the Aku Budak Kluang Facebook page showing a group of teenagers kicking and punching another teen.
