I am a victim of slander, says Hamzah

PETALING JAYA: Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin (pic) has refused to entertain reports that his residence was raided by the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) on Tuesday (June 13).

"A lot of slander has been hurled at me and I am not going to answer all these as it has been shared widely in our country," Malay language daily Sinar Harian quoted the Larut MP saying on Friday (June 16).

The Perikatan Nasional secretary-general said he would sue those who are involved in the slander.

"What is certain is that I will take action when the time is right. I have asked my officer to look into all the unofficial and official news and compile them for information," said Hamzah.

He said this at a press conference after launching the Marang Perikatan election machinery at Binjai Rendah here.

Hamzah then said that he has proof that what is happening is slander to damage the name of Perikatan leaders.

On Friday (June 16), Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he was not notified of the raid on Hamzah's residence by the LHDN.

He said the raid by LHDN officers was an agency matter as an investigative body.
