Cops break up fight between superbike owners, passers-by for parking illegally

MUAR: Police here have issued summonses to three motorcyclists for causing an inconvenience to the public by parking their superbikes along the five-foot way of shophouses here.

Muar OCPD Asst Comm Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz said their action irked passers-by resulting in an altercation between the group of superbike owners and the public.

“Three videos of the fight which took place at Jalan Majidi near here went viral on social media on Sunday (June 18) at 10.15am,’’ he said in a statement.

ACP Raiz Mukhliz said that three videos were uploaded to the Facebook account of Zahedy Zakaria.

“The videos showed the two groups (the motorcyclists and passers-by) provoking each other,’’ he added.

ACP Raiz Mukhliz said police managed to resolve the fight and ordered the three motorcyclists to remove their motorcycles from the five-foot way.

“We would like to advise the public not to speculate on the incident, always obey traffic laws and park your vehicles in designated areas,’’ he said.

ACP Raiz Mukhliz called upon those with information on crime and traffic offenses-related cases to contact the Muar Police District Headquarters Operations Centre at 06-952 6001.
