KUALA LUMPUR: Investigations on a 54-year-old Datuk Seri who allegedly threatened and assaulted a businessman on two separate occasions are in its final stages.
Sentul police chief ACP Ahmad Sukarno Mohd Zahari said on Monday (June 19) that investigators will submit the probe papers to the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) in the next few days.
The first incident occurred on June 6 when the 62-year-old victim, who is a director of a company that deals in rubber products, had met up with the Datuk Seri and another man who is said to be a Datuk at a restaurant in Jalan Dutamas for a meeting.
During the meeting, the Datuk Seri allegedly demanded the victim appoint him and his friend as directors of his company.
The suspect allegedly made a veiled threat against the victim by showing a pistol that was tucked in his waist.
Sources said the victim alleged that the Datuk Seri told him that it was fortunate he had a firearm licence for the pistol or he would have shot him dead.
More than a week later, the victim was invited by another Datuk to meet up with the Datuk Seri and his friend again, this time at a hotel in Petaling Jaya.
On meeting the suspect, the situation turned ugly when the Datuk Seri berated the victim for not fulfilling the demands he had made in the first meeting.
The victim claimed that he was then slapped and head-butted before being warned "to be careful" by the Datuk Seri.
Fearing for his life, the businessman lodged a police report.
