State polls: Wanita Pakatan targets 30% of seats

NIBONG TEBAL: Wanita Pakatan Harapan is aiming for its candidates to contest 30% of the seats in the upcoming elections in six states.

Wanita Pakatan deputy head Fadhlina Sidek (pic), who was also Wanita PKR head, said, however, that the matter was left to the coalition's leadership to decide.

"Since the beginning of this month, we (Wanita Pakatan) have been mobilised with a series of election training to ensure that our machinery is equipped with various information and be ready for the state polls.

"The launch of the election machinery and Pentas Wanita series of public ceramah (rallies) will be carried out during the campaign period," she said when contacted by Bernama on Monday (June 19).

Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, Negeri Sembilan, Penang and Selangor will be holding their state elections soon.

Fadhlina, who was also the Education Minister, said Wanita Pakatan would also cooperate with Wanita Barisan Nasional in campaigning in the state polls to ensure the integrity of the Unity Government. - Bernama
