Youth leader denies PKR invited KJ to join party

PETALING JAYA: PKR has denied offering the party deputy president's post to former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin.

Permatang Pauh PKR Youth chief Fahmi Zainol issued the denial, saying that there are too many fraud syndicates using various tactics these days to grab the public's attention.

"There are all kinds of modern-day scams," he said via Twitter on Monday (June 19).

He said this in reference to an alleged official letter that has been circulating on social media.

The letter supposedly issued by PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail's office on Monday (June 19) invited the former Health Minister to join PKR.

It included an offer for the position of deputy president by appointment until the coming party polls.

The letter also asked Khairy to provide an answer within seven days from the date the letter was issued.
