Negri MB to seek audience with Ruler on June 28 over dissolution of state assembly

SEREMBAN: Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun will seek an audience with Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir next Wednesday (June 28) to get the state Ruler's consent to dissolve the legislative assembly to pave the way for the state polls.

The Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar said the plan is to dissolve the state assembly on June 30.

"I will seek an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan next Wednesday to get the Ruler's consent for the dissolution of the state assembly.

"As of now, the plan is that June 30 will be the last day of this current government," he told reporters when met after giving away cash rewards to 182 graduates who secured a first class honours degree in their respective fields of study.

The term for the current state government ends automatically on July 2.

Next week's state exco meeting, which is usually held on Wednesdays, would also be the last.

In the 2018 general election, Pakatan Harapan won 20 of the 36 state seats. The remaining seats were won by Barisan Nasional.
