A BRIDE who dumped her groom on their wedding day after his family created a ruckus over mutton curry is being praised for her boldness, Makkal Osai reported.

The unidentified woman from India’s Odissa state was supposed to tie the knot on June 11.

During the wedding reception, the groom’s side got upset that there was no mutton dish being served, so they began scolding the bride’s family.

The bride’s family and relatives tried to placate them by promising to make some arrangements about the food. However, they refused and began hurling vulgar words.

The bride, upon seeing the exchange of words, announced that she was calling off the wedding. Videos of the incident went viral online with most people criticising the groom’s family for their sense of entitlement.

The bride, who was interviewed by the media several days later, said she was shocked at the behaviour of her future in-laws.

She was even more disappointed that her future partner did not say a single word to diffuse the situation nor attempt to defend her. According to her, she did not want to marry into a family that argued over petty matters like mutton curry.
