Driver punches car through wall in mishap

GEORGE TOWN: A driver lost control of his car and crashed through a wall of an apartment block’s multi-storey car park in Jelutong.

The front of his car punched through the wall and protruded into the split level. Fortunately, no one was injured.

It was learnt that the driver, who is in his 40s, accidentally reversed and hit a car in the rear.

Then, in an over-reaction, he floored the accelerator pedal while moving forward, crashing into the wall.

The crash occurred at about noon on Sunday.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Soffian Santong said a police report had since been lodged. It is being investigated by the Traffic Department.
