JOHOR BARU: Johor has recorded a total trade of RM247.592bil in the first four months of this year, making it the largest contributor to the country's total trade amount, says Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.
The Johor Mentri Besar said the state has contributed 30% to the country's total trade.
"This is a good growth as it is a jump of 11.8% compared to the same period last year when Johor was in third place with a total trade amounting to RM221.37bil.
"Johor's economic trajectory is also on the right track as the state has recorded RM10.6bil in approved investments in the first quarter of this year, which is three times the amount during the same period last year where we received RM3.2bil in investments," he said in a Facebook post here.
Earlier, Onn Hafiz attended the Joint Industry Coordination Committee meeting at Bangunan Dato Jaafar Muhammad in Kota Iskandar that was chaired by Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.
In a press conference earlier, Tengku Zafrul also said that Johor has a good track record of executing investment projects, including those that were announced by his ministry.
