IPOH: A centre for Malaysians to obtain visas to China should be set-up in the northern region, says the Perak branch of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA).
Its chairman Chong Yu Ken said currently people intending to go to China had to travel to Kuala Lumpur to get their visas.
It would be a good idea to have a centre either in Penang or Perak, he said.
“When tour agents sell destination packages to China, we will provide additional services to get those holiday makers to the centre in Kuala Lumpur to get their visas done.
“But it may be a bit troublesome for individual travellers,” he told reporters Monday (June 23) after announcing details of the Perak MATTA Fair to be held in August.
Chong said usually applicants were required to make online appointments and then go to Kuala Lumpur to get visas.
“However, it will be a good alternative to have more places where the visa applications can be done,” he said.
