Remand extended for 77 suspects over forex scams


KUALA LUMPUR: The remand for 77 people suspected to be members of a foreign exchange scam syndicate has been extended.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Amihizam Abdul Shukor said the remand has now been extended to Monday (June 26).

"Two additional days have been approved, until Monday," he said.

On Friday, ACP Amihizam said 43 men and 34 women, including 11 foreigners, were arrested on June 22 following a raid at a shop in the Klang Valley.

A 17-year-old suspect was also among those nabbed.
