IPOH: A 38-year-old farm worker was found murdered at an oil palm estate in Ayer Tawar, in Manjung.
Perak police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the man was found lying unconscious on the ground with multiple slash wounds on his body on Saturday (June 24) at about 5.15pm.
"The police also found two metal hooks used to cut oil palm, an iron rod, a net, a towel and a motorcycle belonging to the victim at the location.
"The victim's body was sent to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for post mortem," he said in a statement.
Comm Mohd Yusri said the post mortem conducted on Sunday (June 25) found that the cause of death was due to the injuries on the victim's head and excessive bleeding from the wounds caused by a sharp object.
He said the matter was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
"A 38-year-old foreign woman, who is a housewife, was arrested on Sunday at about 3.30am.
"The woman is an acquaintance of the victim," he said, adding that the woman would be remanded until July 1 to facilitate investigations.
